EXPERIENCE CAMBRIDGESHIRE YOUNG FARMERS
We are part of one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK dedicated to young people who have a love for agriculture and rural life.
Led by young people, for young people, our Young Farmers' Clubs provide their 22,000 members aged 10 to 26 with a unique opportunity to develop skills, work with their local communities, travel abroad, take part in a varied competitions programme and enjoy a dynamic social life.
WHO WE ARE
Enhancing the Lives of Children Since 2000
Cambridgeshire is a small Young Farmer County made up of 5 clubs, Comberton, Huntingdon, Soham, March and Newborough.
Made of just over 150 committed members looking to get the most out of Young Farmers through meeting and making new friends, competing against each other in competitions like Public Speaking, Stock Judging, Mock Auctions and competing at the our Annual County Rally.
We are also committed to sustaining our future through fundraising to make sure we are still here for the next generation of Young Farmers. Hosting our County Ball Annually as well as the County Rally which we are building on Year on Year. We are also looking into new opportunities for the future to put our name out their to try and increase the size of our membership and show what YFC is really about.
VOLUNTEERING
In 2019 Cambridgeshire Young Farmers planted over 100 saplings at the Riverside Park in Huntingdon.
The aim of the project is to encourage the planting of trees and benefiting the environment. Young Farmers groups across the country were asked to plant a tree for every member of their County.
FUNDRAISING
Young Farmers have raised over £7,000 for there county last year to keep there county running. They are coming up with new ways to raise money. Most recently they have taken over the Tea and Bar tent at the Cambridgeshire County Show. Clubs have also raised over £5,000 for themselves and local charities through planning events like a tractor road run or even a muck hall.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
There are plenty of training opportunities from learning how to run the clubs finances too team building this makes our members more confident in what they do in there clubs and also with what they do in there lives. Plenty of opportunities come up every year for members to build there skills and grow there confidence.
